Growing healthy businesses: Reconnecting and learning from a time of change

Feel like you’ve never worked so hard as you have in the last eighteen months? You’re not alone.

To stay afloat, businesses have had to pivot left, right and centre in a time defined by rapid change.

But now the focus isn’t on surviving. It’s on moving forward powerfully. And to do that, businesses need to prioritise the health and wellbeing of their teams as we’ve learnt from the past eighteen months.

Our upcoming networking event and panel aims to help you do this – it’s an opportunity to reconnect with like-minded business leaders and learn from each other.

Gain the insight and know-how needed to protect your people, assets and reputation in this volatile new world.

What will the event cover?

Vita Safety’s exclusive event – Growing healthy businesses: Reconnecting and learning from a time of change – is a chance to get business leaders together after a long period of stress and uncertainty where the focus has been on:

  • Urgent health and safety needs
  • Employee mental health and wellbeing
  • Keeping the business afloat

Our goal is to share key health and safety lessons from these challenging times. We’ll discuss:

  • The current state of health and safety in businesses
  • How health and safety is changing in the workplace
  • The ongoing problems businesses need solutions for
  • Handling the lasting factors of urgent H&S and wellbeing management
  • Sustaining wellbeing and providing mental health support
  • The benefits of a people-led culture and how to cultivate one

This event is about facilitating a thought-provoking, engaging discussion led by our panel of fantastic speakers, with plenty of time for networking, reconnecting and catching up.

Who will be speaking?

We have some fantastic business leaders and industry thought-leaders on our panel. All of whom have been entrenched in employee wellbeing and health and safety for the past eighteen months.

Included is:

John Boyle – Health and Safety Executive at Greencore

John Boyle has over two decades of experience working as a Health and Safety manager and executive for a wide variety of companies. His current role is Health and Safety Executive Greencore, the largest producer of convenience foods in the UK.

Greencore has faced significant challenges as a result of the pandemic, from adapting to new health and safety regulations, tackling driver shortages and managing the wellbeing of its workforce. In our event, John will explain his approach to these challenges and how he led through the crisis with purpose and intent.

Clare Wright – Group HR Director at Jardine Motors Group

Clare Wright has been an HR executive for seventeen years. She is currently Group HR Director at Jardine Motors Group, one of the UK’s biggest automotive retailers.

Clare is passionate about driving equality in the motor retail industry and has done a significant amount of work in this area. But her core focus over the pandemic has been helping the business respond to its people challenges, such as keeping a virtual workforce engaged, improving employee wellbeing and adapting to a ‘quitting economy.’ She’ll discuss this in detail to help businesses facing similar challenges come out on top.

Rhian Greaves – Legal Director at DAC Beachcroft

Rhian Greaves is a solicitor specialising in the defence of criminal regulatory actions, principally in the fields of health and safety and environmental law. She is currently Legal Director at DAC Beachcroft, a leading international law business.

Rhian will talk about how her role has changed over the course of the pandemic and the main health and safety challenges DAC Beachcroft and its clients have faced from a legal perspective. She’ll also discuss how the employee wellbeing agenda fits in with HSE and regulatory expectations, highlighting why it’s becoming increasingly important to build an employee-led culture.

Maria Mander – Health & Wellbeing Specialist at The Growth Company

Maria is the founder of Mander Wellbeing and is currently working as Health & Wellbeing Specialist at The Growth Company on the ‘Skills for Growth – SME Support’ programme¹ working with organisations across Greater Manchester.

Maria is an expert in employee wellbeing and creating a culture of wellness within organisations to develop a thriving, healthy, engaged and high performing workforce. She’s joining us to share lessons and tips on creating happier and healthier teams after a long period of change. She’ll also explain why this is crucial for building a sustainable business.
